Privacy Policy for Enzie App

Your privacy is important to us. It is Enzie's policy to respect your privacy and comply with any applicable law and regulation regarding any personal information we may collect about you through our app, Enzie, and its associated services.
This policy will help you understand what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Our Privacy-First Commitment
We do not store your conversations, memories, or personal data on our servers. This is a fundamental principle of Enzie's design and a key differentiator from other AI applications.
All of your personal data—including every conversation, memory, and interaction with Enzie—is stored exclusively on your device. We cannot access, read, or retrieve your conversations or memories from our servers because they are never stored there.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways: information you provide to us voluntarily and information that is collected automatically.
Information You Provide
- Account Information: When you create an account using Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, we collect your User ID, email address, and display name (if you grant permission). This information is used solely for creating and managing your account.
- Conversations and Memories: The core of Enzie is its ability to remember and learn from your conversations. Important: All conversation data and memories are stored exclusively on your device. This includes:
- The text of your conversations with the AI.
- Summaries and topics extracted from those conversations.
- Memories that the AI learns about you over time.
Information We Collect Automatically
- Device and Usage Data: We may collect standard data provided by your device, such as your device's IP address, device type and version, and your activity within the app (e.g., time and date of use). This data is used for analytics and to improve the app's performance and stability.
- Vector Embeddings: To provide semantic search and other advanced features, we generate numerical representations (vector embeddings) of your conversations and memories. These embeddings are stored locally on your device only and are used to help the AI understand the context of your conversations.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Maintain the Service: Your account information is used for authentication. Your conversations and memories remain on your device to enable the core functionality of the app.
- To Process AI Requests: When you send a message, we temporarily transmit your conversation context to our relay server solely to generate an AI response. This data is immediately discarded after processing and is never stored, logged, or retained.
- To Improve Our Service: We may use anonymized and aggregated technical data (not conversation content) to understand how our app performs and to improve its features.
- To Communicate with You: We may use your email address to send you important information about your account or the service.
3. Data Storage and Security
We are committed to protecting your data. We use a "privacy-first" architecture that emphasizes local storage and end-to-end encryption.
- Local Data Storage: All of your personal data, including conversations and memories, is stored locally on your device. We cannot access this data.
- iCloud Sync: To provide a seamless experience across your devices, your data may be automatically synced with your personal iCloud account. This data is subject to Apple's privacy and security policies. We do not have access to your iCloud account.
- Temporary Processing Only: When you interact with the AI, your conversation data and relevant memories are sent to our secure relay server for the sole purpose of generating a response. This data is immediately discarded after processing and is never logged, stored, or retained.
- End-to-End Encryption: Your data is encrypted both in transit (between your device and our relay server) and at rest (on your device).
- Zero Persistent Storage: Our relay server does not persist, log, or retain any of your personal conversation or memory data. We have no ability to access your conversations after they are processed.
4. Third-Party Services
To provide Enzie's functionality, we work with several third-party services. Each has their own privacy policies that you should review:
Authentication Services
- Firebase (Google): We use Firebase for user authentication when you sign in with Apple or Google. Firebase processes your account information according to Google's privacy policy. You can review their privacy practices at https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Apple Sign In: When you use Sign in with Apple, Apple handles the authentication process according to their privacy policy. You can review Apple's privacy practices at https://www.apple.com/privacy/
AI Processing Services
- Large Language Model Providers: We send your conversation data to AI providers (such as Anthropic's Claude) solely to generate responses. This data is transmitted securely and is not used to train their models or stored by them long term. The data is processed temporarily and then discarded.
Apple Services
- iCloud: We use Apple's iCloud service to sync your data across your devices. This data remains under your control and is subject to Apple's privacy policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
- App Store: Your app downloads and updates are handled by Apple's App Store, which has its own privacy practices.
Important: While we work with these third-party services, your conversation content and memories are never permanently stored by us or shared beyond what's necessary to generate AI responses. We choose partners who respect user privacy and do not use your data for training purposes.
5. What We Do NOT Do
To be completely transparent about our privacy practices, here's what we explicitly do NOT do:
- Large Language Model (LLM) Providers: As mentioned above, we send your conversation data and relevant context to our LLM provider for processing. This data is used solely to generate a response and is not used to train their models.
- Authentication Services: We use Firebase for "Sign in with Apple" and "Sign in with Google." These services have their own privacy policies, which you should review.
- Legal and Regulatory Authorities: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to a valid request from a public authority.
6. Your Rights and Controlling Your Personal Information
You have the right to:
- Access Your Data: You can view your conversation history and memories within the app at any time, as they are stored on your device.
- Correct Your Data: While you cannot directly edit past conversations, you can influence the AI's memory by providing corrections and clarifications in your conversations.
- Delete Your Data: You can delete your account and all associated data by contacting us. Please note that deleting the app from your device does not automatically delete your data from iCloud. You will need to manage your iCloud data separately.
- Opt-out of Communications: You can unsubscribe from any marketing or promotional communications at any time.
7. Legal and Regulatory Disclosure
We may disclose your information only if required by law or in response to a valid request from a public authority. However, because we do not store your conversations or memories on our servers, we have very limited data that could be subject to such requests.
8. Children's Privacy
Our service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update our privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. We will also notify you through the app or via email for significant changes.
